So far i've got three basic ideas that i want to explore in this project.
Showing the fear as it were. Trying to show a representation of what that fear is, for example i could show someone in a confined place to signify chlostrophobia.
The second idea is to show the effects of fear, portraits of people being shown there fears or something similar.
Finally i had an idea of using diptychs, one to show reality, and one to show the person experiencing the fear, in a sense some form of dilusion where the fear is there. For example one photo theres no one there, the next there is an evil looking clown!
I know it doesnt make alot of sence here but once i start to experiment i think it would be come alot clearer. Expesh because one and three (ideas above) seem to be pretty similar, while the third is something completely different!
For my reserch ive been trying to find artists/books on the idea of fear and working on fear, as well as people who have done work similar to my ideas: diptychs, atmospheric work and portraits, i want to try and discover what builds fear and tention in photographs. And while i dont want to focus on the horror aspect of it, i think i will have to read into it as horror as a genre is based on fear itself. I also may look into the ideas of nightmares as its linked to fear of the subcontious.
