The first collection of images i saw by Jorge Molder was his images in hiscollection of taxadermy animals. His photos are odd collections of blurred, out of focus or weirdly cropped images. Shot in a very contrasted black and white most of his collections seem a huge mish-mash of odditys, sometimes to the extent of them being unrecognisable. To some extent, some of his collection feels like one of those mystery games where youve got the clues now you just have to peice it all together to find out who-dunnit! They have a very weird atmosphere about them which i really like. I mean can any object look eerie and unusal with just abit of a weird crop and a high contrasted black and white put ontop? However one collection of his images really caught my eye. One of his earlier projects entitled 'waiters' is very interesting to me. With a collection of photographs of waiters taken without there knowlage and without there say so, taken in reflections or windows or even just there shadows. Ever get that feeling of being watched? well isnt that just what is going on here. The fear of being watched or followed is a very common one, even if u just get that odd feeling someone is watching you, well in this case someone actually was. And with the invention of phone cameras this would be far easier to do now days in comparison to using a huge slr? maybe i could try this, maybe start off with my phone and progress to a compact camera as my phone camera is not that brill. But it really is worth ago. Alot of his images have a very film noir or even to some point surreal feel to them. here below are examples of the three collections ive mentioned, the taxerdermy images, the waiters images and finally the objects that just look so different because of the stylein which they were taken
