Steve Hollingsworth- light photos

Steve Hollingsworth is a visual artist. His main themes include light colour and time. He often developes ideas, reusing the basis in different places or styles. He has work based around the idea of ghosts using long exposures in the darkness. It reminded me slightly of the idea i had with the fear of the dark. Using long exposure and lighting to create a good lighting effect (while i need to work on this i think to achieve anything like Hollingsworth!) Often using neon and coloured lights in unique locations or light painting. While the subject is not based around fears, its the atmopshere and the feelings given off by his use of light. he is fascinated in the possibility of photography to bridge times and places and its ability to freeze time and record and absorb light. I he has taken many long exposure photographs, with himself moving in darkness and from the resultant images made 2 neon pieces informed from the photographic condensations and residues of his actions.
